Day 17: Let’s Finish Doing All the Things!

I woke up Saturday morning to more bad news.

I was pretty bummed. I was really looking forward to this excursion, and it ended up getting canceled two days in a row. So since I wasn’t doing that, I decided to Google what was kind of going on around Boston that day.
I got up and got dressed and headed back out. As we were driving, my Uber driver told me that Will Ferrell was filming a new Christmas movie in Boston. We passed by the area where he was filming. I don’t know what this Christmas movie is going to be, but there’s no way it could possibly surpass Elf.

My first stop was at the dispensary so I could make use of it while I was there. After that I decided to just wander around. I randomly ended up getting my eyebrows threaded (something they desperately needed). I saw my very first Little Free Library. Leave me alone; I got my degree in English lit. Of course I’m excited to see books. I went to this random four-story Walgreens. Then it was back to doing actual touristy things.
My next stop was the Granary Burying Ground. It is where Paul Revere and Samuel Adams are buried.
I continued walking around, hitting historical places as I went. I went to the Massachusetts State House. (I found the most amazing sign ever here!) I went to the Boston Massacre “site” and the building where the Declaration was first read. I found a random bagpiper and thought of Mr. Micah.
Next, it was off to the highlight of my day. They were celebrating Octoberfest at the Sam Adams taphouse! Of course I was going! I got in line and waited a while, but it was worth it. Your admission included a pour of Sam Adams Octoberfest (one of the only beers I actually enjoy). There was a German style oompah band. They had giveaways. It was just generally a fantastic time.
After the taphouse, I was a dummy and headed back to the hotel early. I misremembered the date and time of the UCF/Navy game and thought I had to be back to watch it. It was the first of UCF’s two bye weeks. Oops! But that’s okay. I have a busy day Sunday and I needed the rest.
Next adventure: Salem!
