Day 19: More Train Travel!

I got up super early so I could get to the train station. It was going to be a very long day. I was heading back to Virginia from Boston.

I napped on the first leg of my trip — the Boston to DC portion. I had a short layover in DC. Too short to go out and do anything, but long enough for me to be bored.

I boarded the second train for the DC to Virginia portion. This train went a different way than when I went up the coast, so I got to see more nature. I also had the most delicious train snack, courtesy of a recommendation from Kat.

So posh for a train!

I got off the train and caught a cab to my hotel… or so I thought. The driver took me to the wrong hotel! So I had to catch another cab to the correct one. I was exhausted by the time I got to my real hotel. Luckily, my friend met me there and helped me lug my bags to my room. I got myself settled in my room and proceeded to show him some of the souvenirs I was most proud of (mainly clothes for Micah that make him look like an animal of some sort).

After a much needed back massage and some Adult Swim, he headed out and I settled in for a much needed hard crash.

On deck for tomorrow: nothing major!! I just get to relax and decompress and spend time with one of my best friends. It’s a fantastic way to end my trip.
