Purchases made last night helped me get an absolutely amazing night of sleep. I slept like a rock, which was an exciting development. Why is this stuff not legal everywhere? My back isn’t hurting and I didn’t have to take a sleeping pill last night. I’d call that a very big win. But I digress…
I got up early this morning and got ready and headed down to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This museum was completely *exploding brain*. I knew from the size of the building that the inside was going to be a lot to take in. The Turkish collection was fascinating. The Roman and Greek portion really spoke to me for some reason. The indoor sculpture garden was almost overwhelming. But I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.
I stopped at the café to get lunch. It was nothing to write home about. I wish I would’ve thought to step outside the museum and grab lunch from a hotdog cart, but I am not that well-versed in travel yet. I did step outside at one point to warm up because the museum was like an icebox. While I was outside, there was a random German American parade going on. Apparently there was some big festival somewhere.
I finished out the day at the museum, and stayed until it closed at five. I headed back to my hotel to regroup and to grab some leftovers. Then it was back out again… this adventure’s destination? Times Square. Observe…
Oh my goodness… the lights… the sounds… *whew*! By the time I got there, most of the stores were closed. The only ones really left open were the “I ♥️ NY“ stores, the street vendors, and a handful of other shops. I had to buy a new pair of flip flops because someone flat tired me and I am having to say goodbye to my favorite pair. AND I don’t have a backup pair. I’m hoping one of the Walmarts in NC has the ones I got in Sanford.
I headed back to my hotel around 11:30 and got everything reset for the next day. I’m not sure of the full plan, but I’m sure it will be awesome.
